In the summer of 1985, God gave pastors Terry and Suzette a vision to bring “New Life” to the city of Grand Forks. God wants every person to experience a life of fullness through a growing relationship with Him. At New Life, our goal is to love God and love people through persistent and faithful action. We are pursuing everything connected with life as God intends it to be through healing, deliverance, and wholeness.

Worship is at the very core of our being as New Lifers. Our heart is to be a catalyst for all people to come to the Father in worship.

Jesus said those who follow Him would "lay hands on the sick and they would recover". Our heart is to reach our city with this healing love.

We are a family oriented church. We believe in legacy and giving what we have learned to our children so that they can go even further than we ever could. We even have an up and coming third generation who help with tech and sing on the worship team!

Senior pastor
In 1985, Pastor Terry graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eugene Bible College in Oregon. Shortly after he felt the Lord call him to the city of Grand Forks to plant New Life. Since then, he has watched New Life go through its highs and its lows and has been there leading the charge the entire time. He has since earned a Doctorate of Ministry from the King’s Seminary and is now both Senior Pastor of New Life as well as the director of his ministry he founded called Experiencing His Victory. Pastor Terry is the epitome of the servant heart. When people are in need, he is ALWAYS there for them. He gives his time and attention and prayer to people freely and without any strings attached! We are very blessed to have him as our pastor!
Suzette Tuinder
Co-Pastor
Pastor Suzette has worn many hats throughout the 34 years of New Life’s existence, but the one that she is the most proud to wear is as the director of our children and youth ministries. She loves children and loves to help them grow in the ways of Lord. Pastor Suzette believes very deeply in the concept of legacy and passing down wisdom and growth through the generations of family. She is a passionate worshipper who served on the worship team as a vocalist for 22 years! Also, she can often times be found decorating the sanctuary, doing gardening around the building, or cooking something amazing for our monthly family meals. Pastor Suzette is a kind-hearted and wonderful mama to our church family!
Josh and Madelina Tuinder
Worship Leaders
Josh was the very first usher at New Life. He has set up and taken down countless folding chairs and tables. He has done all the things a good pastors kid should do. And about 15 years ago, Josh began leadings worship at New Life. He is a self-taught guitar player with a borderline obsessive passion for music and worship. And when Lina joined him on stage a couple years ago, the fullness of their ministry to New Life was realized. These two have a unique worship ministry that brings our congregation directly to the throne room of God on a weekly basis. They prophecy through song and build us up with their wonderful voices and devotion to the art of worship.
